Our Incredible Teachers
Gabriel Deutsch is a guitarist and arranger living and performing in LA. He holds a Master’s degree in performance and composition from the California Institute of the Arts. Gabriel’s guitar style has been described as a bridging of the gap between flamenco and classical performance. His work with the Los Angeles Electric 8 has enjoyed a great many write ups and has enjoyed performances with Microfest, Red Cat and Pomona City College.
Gabriel has made hundreds of arrangements for guitar. His arrangements include classical works of Rachmonioff and Mozart to Classic Rock and Electronic Music. His YouTube channel, Gabriel Solo Guitar is nearing 1000 subscribers with arrangements that delight the guitarist and music appreciator alike.
Gabriel has performed at reputable venues all over the greater LA area: from Disney Concert Hall to The Wiltern to Pappy and Harriets. Gabriel has a studio in Old Town Pasadena where he teaches classical, acoustic and electric guitar.
Pianist Junie Cho has appeared as soloist with orchestras, recitalist and chamber musician throughout the United States and in Asia. Her performance of Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto with Prime Symphony Orchestra at Merkin Hall in New York City was acclaimed for its “majestic resonance and graceful melodies”. The New York debut recital at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall has been followed by engagements of solo recitals and chamber music concerts with members of the New York Philharmonic and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.
In 2014 she joined the piano faculty at Appalachian State University Hayes School of Music in North Carolina, where she held residency until 2023. Cho attended Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, The Mannes College and Manhattan School of Music where she earned the Doctor of Musical Arts degree. Her teachers include Woonkyung Kang, Alfonso Montecino, James Tocco, Marylène Dosse, Lilian Kallir, Robert McDonald, Claude Frank, and Nina Svetlanova. While maintaining performance schedule, she is frequently invited to give lectures and masterclasses, and to adjudicate competitions in the United States and in Korea.
Cellist, Joong-In Rhee, has performed numerous works for various audiences throughout the years captivating them with his sensitive lyricism and passionate playing. Joong-In Rhee was a former student of the late Janos Starker at Indiana University. Completing his education at Indiana University and Yale University, he then joined the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra as co-principal cellist where he gained recognition from many prominent musicians.
Joong-In was also the first prize winner of many competitions including the Lima Symphony Young Artist Competition, Bloomington Symphony Competition, Indianapolis Symphony Young Artist Competition, Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, and a finalist of the Brazil International Cello Competition.
Being most active with humanitarian work, Joong-In Rhee founded the Agape Ensemble to perform benefit concerts in his mission to feed the hungry children of the world. Currently, he is Vice-President of IIMF(Image International Music Festival, non-profit), working to sponsor and promote musically talented students from around the world, and is also the Artistic Director of Yung-Mee RheeMusic Academy in California where he teaches cello.
